It’s one thing for us to tell you about the impact Patriot Academy is having, and the difference it is making in the hearts and lives of young leaders, but it’s another thing for us to show you.

I was blessed to attend Patriot Academy this year for the first time. I’ve been interested in politics for as long as I can remember and also co-founded a political organization called Young Patriots for Liberty. When I heard about Patriot Academy through the American Family Association, I knew right away that it was something I wanted to do!
My experience was definitely better than I hoped or even imagined! Going into it as a first-timer and not really knowing what to expect, I was blown away by everyone’s kindness and helpfulness. The alumni and staff certainly make it easy for newcomers to join right in! 
Another thing that I was blessed by (and thoroughly enjoyed!) were the committee meetings. Being someone who really doesn’t like conflict, I was a little nervous about how it was going to be when debating different issues. I soon learned that I never had any cause to be nervous! Although we had many good discussions and didn’t always agree(!), everyone kept it on a professional and kind level
that was enjoyable and profitable for all.
The list of skills and information learned through Patriot Academy (both through the preparation beforehand and during the Academy!), was amazing. I was (and continue to be!) thoroughly blessed by all of it. For me, one of the most impactful things was learning how the legislative process worked. Acting as a representative for the week gave me a whole new appreciation and understanding of what my legislators do and go through! Also, the things I learned about public speaking and the skills developed there not only helped to give me more confidence, but have continued to bless me after the academy as well!
My week at Patriot Academy was one of the most encouraging, educational, inspiring, and fun weeks of my life! Realizing you’re not alone in the struggle to preserve the Torch of Freedom for future generations, especially through the friendships that were forged, was definitely one of the things I enjoyed most! I really enjoyed looking around at the end of the week and realizing that everyone felt like one big family. I believe these friendships will last a lifetime.
I encourage anyone and everyone to attend Patriot Academy and to remember that it’s not only our duty to carry and then pass the torch of freedom to the next generation, but that we can all make a difference in the sphere God has placed us in!
