To Our Public Servants at the Local, State, & National Level:
Thank you for your service in these very tough times. We know you are facing extremely difficult decisions and we are praying for you to have wisdom and that your advisors help you to make the best choices possible between what must seem like no-win options.
We believe government has a compelling interest to take action to attempt to save lives from Covid19 and we fully support you taking action as long as that action is narrowly tailored and least restrictive.
While we do support actions to “flatten the curve,” we do NOT support flat-lining our economy and quarantining our Constitution.
We fully support the common-sense, voluntary efforts of social distancing & conscientious personal measures, limits on large public gatherings, everyone who can work from home doing so, and the most vulnerable staying home.
We do NOT support “stay-at-home” or “shelter-in-place” orders for entire counties or states. We do NOT support threatening citizens with fines or jail for leaving their homes. We do NOT support mandates that prevent people from going to work when they can use common-sense pre-cautions to abide by social distancing and other necessary measures.
We Americans are a hearty, courageous, caring, rational, benevolent, willing-to-sacrifice people. We have all made significant personal, financial, professional, and emotional sacrifices to protect the vulnerable among us and we will continue to do so.
We call upon you, the leaders chosen for such a time as this, to pause for a moment and reconsider any actions that violate basic constitutional rights and make sure any action you take is being done in the least restrictive, most narrowly tailored way possible.
Thank you for hearing the voice of the people and taking immediate action to restore constitutional liberties within your jurisdiction; while continuing to take action to fight the virus in a scientifically based, economically rational way.
Your Fellow Americans & Your Constituents.
