It’s one thing for us to tell you about the impact Patriot Academy is having, and the difference it is making in the hearts and lives of America’s leaders, but it’s another thing for us to show you.
And what better way than through the testimony of the students themselves.
What first got you interested in Patriot Academy?
Back in 2016, a member of my church encouraged me to attend Patriot Academy!
Little did I know how much that one week of summer would impact my life.
I thought it would be a good experience and something beneficial for me to try. So I attended the Regional Academy in Delaware for the first time. Since then I have now attended two Regional Academies and the National Academy in Texas!
Was the experience what you had expected? Why or why not?
The first year I attended, I had no clue what to expect! I had never really pursued anything in government or public speaking up to that point, and I was not very familiar with the legislative process.
However, Patriot Academy proves that one learns best through hands on experience.
By presenting my bill and participating in the committee and floor sessions, I rapidly learned the process and was encouraged to rise to the occasion.
Patriot Academy is such an amazing environment because you are challenged to do your best and to hold yourself with professionalism and maturity. It is undoubtedly an iron sharpening iron environment.
I absolutely love the Christian caliber and conduct of the students, leaders, and teachers. It’s so encouraging and it’s something I always look forward to.
There aren’t a lot of places today with a Christian community like Patriot Academy.
Has Patriot Academy changed the direction where you see your life heading?
God has undoubtedly used Patriot Academy to change my life.
After attending I was inspired and motivated to be the best that I can be; to invest in learning; to hold myself with poise; to be bold in standing for the truth.
Patriot Academy has fanned the flame in me to be a confident, excited patriot eager to make a difference.
It broadened my horizons to realize that nothing is too big or out of reach. God did not call us to be silent and live in our comfort, He has called us to make a difference and be the light. It’s not for the next person to do, it starts with YOU.
I am definitely encouraged to use my time productively and not waste the life God has given me.
What particular skills did Patriot Academy teach you that you are using today?
I definitely have improved in my debating and speaking abilities compared to before I attended Patriot Academy. I now enjoy to civilly debate with people, and since Patriot Academy I have been able to engage in conversations with better articulation.
I am also much better equipped to analyze the events that unfold in our local and national political scenes. Additionally Patriot Academy has encouraged me to really heed the council of the older generation and glean from the wisdom they have to share.
What opportunities and/or connections came as a result of Patriot Academy?
I can’t even count the opportunities and doors that have been opened through Patriot Academy!
God has absolutely used Patriot Academy to bring some amazing people into my life, and some great opportunities as well! I have made some incredible friendships through Patriot Academy that likely would not otherwise have developed.
It’s amazing that there is a network of like-minded, fellow Patriots across the nation all fighting for the same goals.
Through Patriot Academy I have been able to make connections that have enabled me to participate in both local and national political events. And not only that, but I have even been able to connect with nonpolitical opportunities that I have immensely enjoyed!
I am so thankful for all of the amazing doors that have been opened through Patriot Academy!
What was the most important thing you learned at Patriot Academy?
One of the most valuable things I have learned from Patriot Academy is that I need to know why I believe what I believe. That I need to be ready and prepared to make a stand for the truth, wherever I may be.
Ignorance is not to be praised. Wise people spend time learning and expanding their knowledge. Every time I leave Patriot Academy, I am always eager and hungry to learn more.
I am excited and fired up to get back and tell others what I’ve learned.
I leave encouraged because of both the teaching I received and the fellowship I had in the Patriot Academy community. I honestly leave Patriot Academy excited and ready for the next year!
Certainly, Patriot Academy was a week that changed my life! I highly encourage any young American to invest in themselves by attending the Patriot Academy so that they may be better equipped to stand for the truth in a day that desperately needs it!
