This week, MSNBC’s Chuck Todd was reporting on the Alabama Senate race. He had this to say about then-candidate Judge Roy Moore:
Seeing an MSNBC host caring about the Constitution as written, is almost as shocking as it would be to see Colin Kaepernick stand for the National Anthem (or be a good quarterback).
But let us hope that Chuck has developed a proper understanding of the need for original intent, and examine with an open mind the evidence of Roy Moore’s heresy.
Chuck’s evidence was this quote from Judge Roy Moore:
With just a hint of smugness, Chuck then informed his audience:
“Now that’s just a taste of very fundamentalist views that have gotten him removed from office twice as Alabama’s chief justice.”
Rights – Where Do They Come From?
According to Chuck, Judge Roy Moore’s election should have you freaking out because he doesn’t believe in the Constitution as written. However, Chuck’s only evidence is a quote from Moore echoing the long-held, correct view of rights.
Don’t believe me? Let’s see what a few of the architects of America had to say on the subject:
Our Founding Fathers were heavily influenced by philosopher John Locke. One of Locke’s main contentions against the monarchy of the time was that since the king granted rights, the kind could take away rights. Locke believed that we were born with innate rights that came from our Creator, therefore these rights couldn’t be taken away by other men.
Chuck Todd’s complete lack of understanding on the subject is shocking and sad. Because it has led to this –
The utter insanity of this claim should be immediately obvious.
Life begins at conception. Therefore, 1 out of every 1 abortion is unsafe. Because it murders an innocent child.
Because Science
The Left regularly claims that Constitutional, Biblical conservatives are science deniers. They usually cite the (warranted) skepticism of global warming (or is it climate change now? Can’t keep track).
Climate change theory is just that – theory. It is not proven, there is no consensus.
However, what is proven is that
Babies are able to learn while still inside the womb.
Babies are able to feel pain while still inside the womb.
Babies are able to survive after only 24 weeks in the womb.
That number is constantly getting lower because of advances in medicine.
Unborn humans are still humans. And therefore, they possess the God-given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Our Battle
The wanton murder of nearly 60,000,000 innocent children since Roe v. Wade is the natural result of Chuck Todd’s kind of thinking.
It doesn’t matter what science says, it doesn’t matter what common sense says. If rights don’t come from God, they are not secure.
And if the liberties of the unborn are not secure, what makes us think that ours will remain intact?
The fight for the liberty of the unborn, is our fight. And it starts with simple, self-evident truth:
