After eight long years of law upon law, regulation after regulation, order upon order, Americans have had enough. No longer will Democrats be able to continue implementing harmful policies or make bad decisions which hurt the everyday American.
Republicans have been elected to counter the failures of the past with a conservative agenda, with great sweeping reforms, and begin the process of restoring the sanity our government so desperately needs.
Many of the promises GOP candidates pitched to eager audiences regarded the repeal of certain laws. Whether it was the burdensome restrictions placed upon healthcare providers through ObamaCare, or the increasing amount of regulations added to the ever-growing stack of EPA code small businesses abide by, Republicans promised an effectual end to the daily misuse of delegated power.
Instead, the Congress would work with the President to repeal such regulations and enact legislation which would empower small businesses around the nation, and give a break to the middle-class citizen. Additionally, Republicans promised a conservative replacement to the vacant seat on the Supreme Court, one devoted to the ideology of interpreting the Constitution by original intent. Furthermore, conservatives promised to fill as many of the 4,000-plus open staff positions as possible, replacing the self-interested lobbyists with liberty-minded people to influence policy and help guide our executive branch away from its precedent of continual overreach.
But most importantly, Republicans promised to implement a pro-life amendment to the Constitution, not only reiterating the supremacy of our core document, but also reinforcing the rule of law. No longer would the weak and helpless of the unborn be denied the right to life by an activist court, but instead be given the chance to live their lives given them by our Creator, and to the fullest.
As evidenced by the results of the 2016 election, the American people have wholeheartedly embraced the agenda and solutions offered by Republicans. Thanks to the trust put in them once again, conservatives and libertarians are reinvigorated alike. But it is not enough to simply bask in the glorious victory.
It is imperative that Republicans get to work-to repeal the burdensome regulations, to fill the many vacancies with true conservatives, and reinforce the rule of law. There are no more excuses-the GOP has the opportunity and the power to truly make a great difference. Now is the time for Republicans to fulfill their many promises, and follow through on their word.
