2 Lessons from today’s reading stand out to me: Don’t Murmur & Don’t be be Negative Nahbi. Don’t recognize the name Nahbi? Probably not Igal or Palit or Gaddiel or Ammiel either… they were all whiners like Nahbi & their depressing report caused an entire generation to die in the wilderness. So we don’t remember their names… but Joshua & Caleb? Oh yea, we know those two patriot warriors who said, “Giants? Oh yea, HUUUGE! Fortified cities? Like none we’ve ever seen…BUT GOD HAS GIVEN US THE LAND, LET’S GO TAKE IT!” Too many fearful Negative Nahbi’s today in America…let’s all be Joshua & Caleb’s… strong and of a good courage, not afraid, not dismayed… the Lord is with us!
